What Our Customers Say

Comfortable Pair of Sneakers

To me, visiting ACE in Westlake is like pulling a comfortable pair of sneakers. They help you find what you need, carry you through your job, and treat you with respect. Like sneakers, you pick up an occasional small stone that causes you to stop and shake it out, but like those good sneakers, they continue to serve you well.

Everything I needed

They had everything I needed and a whole lot more. Great store and a nice break from the big box stores. The prices were decent too. I'll be back there definitely.

Very Happy

I've been very happy with every E&H Hardware store I've been to, they hire on good staff and carry a wide variety of products that you won't find in big box stores.

Friendly and Helpful Staff

Friendly and helpful staff, wide selection of hardware, and fair prices make this place my first stop for hardware needs.

Personalized Service

This is where you go for personalized service you rarely find at the big box store. If you need to get in and out with what you need, without the hassle of roaming around aimlessly in a warehouse, this is exactly where you should go.

Best Ace Hardware

Best ace hardware I've ever been to....they truly have everything.

Highly Recommended

Nicest Ace Hardware I have ever been in. Very nice. Great staff make it even better. Highly recommend.

Honest Staff

There is not a more friendly, knowledgeable, and honest staff at any hardware store I have ever been to.

Old School Hardware Store

This is a great old school hardware store. Anything and everything you could ever need. If they don't have it, they can find it for ya! Really love the old fashion feel that it has.

They've gained a customer for life!

I went into the store today hot, grumpy and frazzled. However, I walked out laughing and beaming b/c the staff was SO friendly and helpful. I got 4 gallons of paint and they managed to tint it, mix it, ring me out and load it into my car with enough time left over to grab a bite on my lunch hour. They've gained a customer for life! Next time I'm having a bad day, my "retail therapy" just may end up being Ace Hardware.

Great Hometown feel

Great hometown feel to this place. I always run here instead of a big box place if I can. Knowledgeable staff that is friendly and willing to help figure out your project. Wide selection of rental equipment, too!

Locally operated. Family owned. Nearly 90 years of relationships built on trust. We are E&H Hardware Group.

E&H Hardware Group (Doing business as both E&H Ace Hardware and Moe’s Outdoor Equipment & Supplies, depending on the market) traces its roots back to 1929. The country was on the cusp of the Great Depression and Ed Buehler was working for A&P Grocery in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Determined that he could operate his own grocery better than the competition, Ed and his wife Helen started Buehler Food Markets.

In 1931 Ed and Helen relocated their store to Wooster, Ohio. Through the years, Buehler’s continued to grow into new markets throughout northeast Ohio. In 1959, a hardware department was added to the Orrville, Ohio location. Buehler’s continued to expand the grocery and hardware operations into a 13 store chain throughout the mid-2000s. By 2010, the family expanded to 6 Ohio hardware locations including Orrville, Dover, Delaware, Medina, Canton, and New Philadelphia. Each location was integrated within a Buehler’s grocery store.

In 2011 E&H Hardware Group, LLC was officially established as the family looked for continued hardware growth. The 2011 addition of Independence, Ohio marked the first free-standing (no associated grocery store attached) location for the family.

Through 2017, E&H Hardware Group continued to accelerate growth with the opening and/or acquisition of an additional 16 locations. In November 2017 the Buehler family sold the grocery business to its employees in the form of an Employee Stock Ownership Program. This allowed both the continuing 3rd and 4th generation family members to focus solely on continued expansion of E&H Hardware Group.

2020 will see the addition of the family’s newest location in Bainbridge Township, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

The Buehler family continues to operate E&H Hardware Group as the company strives for additional growth. The drive to exceed customers’ expectations through relationships built on trust is what continues to fuel the family’s desire for become the best neighborhood hardware for do-it-yourself and professional customers alike.

We look forward to welcoming you into your location E&H Ace Hardware sometime soon. We’re always here to help and would be thrilled to be a part of your next project!
